Repertoire

The Forest Flute Choir try anything and embrace all genres of music from Renaissance to classic rock.  We have recently included the following in our programmes:

New Rep for Spring 2015 – tbc

New Rep for the Autumn 2011  –   John Denver’s Annie’s Song, Jazz Pieces by Russell Stokes, Pachelbel’s Canon, some Bob Dylan…..definitely some seasonal music (Christmas carols and other music)

New repertoire for Summer 2011  –  Gershwin:  6 lovely arrangements taken from his shows, Bizet’s Entractes from Carmen, Ian Clarke’s Walk Like This, Gossec’s Tambourin (with a yet to be named soloist!), Strauss’ Blue Danube, Offenbach’s Can Can.

Film and TV themes  –  James Bond, The Simpsons, My Fair Lady, Lord of The Rings, Top Cat and The Jungle Book

Tchaikovsky’s themes from The Nutcracker, Deep Purple’s Smoke on the Water, JS Bach’s Air on a G string, Sailors’ Hornpipe, Cossack Ride, Mozart’s  ‘Allegro’ from Eine Kleine Nacht Music, Dance music from 1920’s, Scott Joplin Ragtimes, jazz by Russell Stokes and others, plus numerous arrangements of Christmas carols and folk songs – you name it we can do it….

During 2011 we will be playing a selection from Carmen by Bizet and some music from 1930s and 1940s by Keith Amos also Erik Satie and an arrangement of Barber’s Adagio for Strings. That’s the plan anyway.
